Functional Strategies

Strategy 1 The All-in-One Home Row

This concept utilizes every aspect of the rowing motion. The concept itself will be able to “transform” into multiple different layouts that allow it to work a different muscle group while still using the rowing motion. These would consist of standing row, lat pulldown, bar curls, sitting row and tri pulldowns. The potential product’s maneuverability will allow it to fit nicely in the corner of any room in your house. A type of water flywheel would be used in place of weights. Increasing the workout would be as easy as adding more water to the flywheel casing.

Strategy 2 Paddleboard Machine

The “Paddleboard” concept would only perform one workout, the standing row. Paddleboarding is known to be a great workout and has yet to be imitated by any other machine out there. This concept would utilize the water flywheel technology to imitate the feeling of paddling through the water. The workout would be performed on an unstable platform to help improve small muscle control and increase the benefit of the workout. The machine would only have one point of rotation, which would allow it to fold up and store in the corner.

Strategy 3 The Row/Lat Pull Down Machine

This concept would include two major workouts and a type of water flywheel would be used in place of weights. Increasing the workout would be as easy as adding more water to the flywheel casing. The first would be the Sitting Row, which works the majority of muscles throughout your entire body. The second would be the Lat Pull Down. The concept would have one pivot point, which would allow it to fold up and store in the corner. Once folded up though, the concept naturally forms a Lat Pull Down machine, which provides a great workout that gets the muscles that the Sitting Row doesn’t. The potential product would include a multitude of different bars to target specific muscle groups and create more of a full body workout while still providing a fat burning cardio routine.

Strategy 4 Patenting the Innovation

Once developed, the technology that develops from this idea will be patented right away. We will develop a physical product out of it for show-and-tell, which would allow us to demonstrate the technology’s potential and perform consumer intercepts. The physical products will be tested and researched further to test and price the value of its market. The patent will forge its own value through the demonstrations and research and will be sold. These terms will be dependent on many factors that will increase its value, more so than going through with the production and retailing of the physical product.
